ABOUT MYERS PARK ::
Prestigious is the best word to define Myers Park. With its winding streets and massive oak trees lining the roads, Myers Park seems more like a week-end getaway than a home address. With a drive down Queens road, you will appreciate the feel of “The Old South” which it is appropriately called being one of the original suburbs of Charlotte. Once a cotton farm, Myers Park emerged in south Charlotte when landscape architect John Nolen was hired to create a garden suburb. Myers Park was originally a street car suburb whose residents commuted to town via the electric trolley. Nolen discarded the original street grid pattern and instead chose curving streets that followed the landscape. This area contains some of the most historical, eclectic and charming neighborhoods in all of Charlotte if not the whole country, resulting from the building boom of the 1920’s. Most of these residential homes are older traditional homes but there are a few modern development projects with a mix of condominiums and townhouses available. There is a wonderful shopping and dining district located along the eastern edge of the community. Located in the center of Myers Park is Queens University, a Presbyterian institution offering liberal arts programs. Graduate and undergraduate studies are available as well as programs for working professionals. Queens university was founded in 1857 and established in Myers Park in the early part of the 20th century.
Myers Park NC Homes ::
Today, Myers Park is still very much an in-town neighborhood. Myers Park offers convenience and variety with its mix of distinct and eclectic retail establishments, office buildings, restaurants, and some of Charlotte's most notable landmarks including Myers Park Country Club, Theater Charlotte, and Wing Haven (a garden and bird sanctuary created in 1927). Myers Park undoubtedly maintains its prestige as one of Charlotte's finest residential addresses. The median sales price for a home in Myers Park is $1,052,313. Myers Park retains much of its original flavor and we believe it is a neighborhood worth protecting to the standard set by its founders when it was developed.
